I put together a Mega deal and headed out this afternoon with my $1.00 off AJC coupons looking for my double bundle of Sunday papers.
The first (and closest) Kroger I went to didn't have any double-bundle papers, only single. Although I pay $1.00 per paper on Saturdays, and could have here, I only had 3 coupons, so I was still several papers short than planned.
Then I got over to the fruit snack row and found the Betty Crocker fruit shapes priced .30 more than I'd been expecting from deals found on the internet.
That happens, I know, and usually I would have just dealt with it and refigured, but between the papers and this, everything seemed to be going wrong. It seemed like a good time to abort. But I needed my papers. So I left and drove another 20+ miles to a larger city Kroger.
It was late in the day and there was only 2 double bundles of papers left. The fruit shapes were also priced higher here, but I had driven that far, I wasn't leaving without doing my deal.
