I didn't want to get out of bed this morning, and debated on whether I wanted to go buy my papers today, or try to work them into deals tomorrow. I wanted to try to figure out shopping deals even less, so I decided it'd be easier to just buy the papers outright.
I went online to look at the coupon preview to see how many papers I wanted to buy, but then I got distracted looking at the CVS sale, and never did look at the coupon preview. Since it's P&G week, I went ahead and got 10.
In the meantime, I saw there was a dental-stuff deal coming up next week with coupons expring today, and there were new $3/$15, $4/$20, $5/$30 CVS coupons. I also hadn't done last week's deals, and knew I had ECBs expiring in a few days, so figured I better get me to CVS today.
First CVS I went to I knew started tomorrow's deals early, today. (If you don't know, check the price of something you know will be on sale next week on the red scanner machine. If it rings up next week's sale price, then the ad has started early.)
But they didn't have much of a selection for the Dental-stuff deal. The ad says Crest Pro-health 1 liter, but apparently that doesn't include the Night stuff. They very nicely adjusted the price to the $3.99 sale price, but it didn't count towards my total for the ECBs. So instead of $20.94, it shows I spent $16.95, and instead of $10.00 ECB, I got $5.00.
I tried to tell her I was supposed to have ECBs for the one she adjusted, but she insisted you only get $5.00 for any amount spent over $10.00.
So, I got to go back and exchange the bottle I got for a correct bottle. Hopefully I'll be able to find one in stock somewhere.

Walmart
Whew, that was close. Thought I was going to end up letting the last of my $2.00 Pampers Wipes coupons go to waste. Never fear, I got off my rear.
Also got another couple of the BioTrue @ Free after $4.00 coupon found in Optical dept. (They didn't have any, or anymore, today...boohoo)
Also found the Edwards singles for $1.12 a this WM. Apparently the ones at the local WM that are $2.25 are (2) singles slices.
$1.12 - .75 coupon = $0.37 each; not bad, me and Ryan loves lemon meringue pie.
Final Total $0.56 + $1.46 tax = $2.02 OOP

Kroger
My main reason for going Krogering today was because I had a stack of $0.50 Crest coupons expiring today. I also still had a couple of the Gillette Body Wash coupons also expiring today, but didn't figure I'd find any of those, and I was right. Stock was already running low last Sunday.
The first Kroger I stopped in I didn't find any 10/$10 Crest. They were marked 2/$5.00 and other prices. Grrrrr!
I did, however, come in on the motherload of bread clearance. White bread for .39, hot dog and hamburger buns for .49 cents. I got (4) loafs of bread, (3) pkgs of hamburg buns, and (2) pkgs of hot dog buns. Used one of the $4.00 OYNO on them.
Total OOP $.09 cents.
Then I blew another $4.00 OYNO on marked down angelfood cake and brown&serve rolls. Last week I passed over a marked down angelfood cake and someone else grabbed it up and I regretted it all week. So I didn't even think twice today. It was $1.39. The b&s rolls were .69 each, which wasn't that great, and not something we really "need" like loafa bread, but oh well, live a little, right.
Total OOP $.23 cents.
I also did another cheese deal, and got a A&W dessert topper, and a Teen Spirit deodorant.
Another deal is Kroger has the envelope packages of Weber seasoning for $0.89 thru 9/11, and there are .50 coupons in one of the inserts (expires 8/31), so makes those free. No overage because at Kroger coupons will only double up to the amount of the item.
Used $5.00 OYNO and $4.00 OYNO and $0.33 OOP
Rec'd $5.00 OYNO and $2.50 OYNO
On the way home I wasn't going to bother stopping in the other Kroger I passed, but then I thought, oh heck, just stop in and see if they maybe restocked the Gillette Body Wash (I've had good luck with them restocking later during the mega-sales before).
They had not restocked the Gillette, but I did find the 10/$10 Crest, YaY! I got 10 tubes of Crest.
Final Total $0.35 (tax)

Rite Aid
So I finally got out and went Rite Aid'ing. Learned something new. I know to go shopping to the county East of where I live for the Long ad, because the county I live in gets the Short ad....and, I thought, so did the county to the North of us. Turns out, the county to the North gets the Super-Short ad. Gah.
The first store I had no problems; I guess they are glad to get customers and happy to make money whether it's me paying cash, or the manufacturers paying for the coupons. I've always liked shopping this store, but as I said, can't much because they get the Short ad...come to find out the Super-Short ad.
I was lucky to find three bottles of the Nivea body wash here
1st Transaction I bought (2) Nivea, (1) Colgate, (2) loafs of bread marked to $1.00 each and (1) Trojan condoms clearanced to $3.49 (75% off).
Used (2) $3.00 +UP and $0.97 + .79 tax = $1.76 from Gift Card
Rec'd $1.00 Nivea, $1.00 Nivea, and $3.00 Colgate +UP rewards
SCR $3.00 Trojan (and $3.00 towards #560 Oral Care)
Final Total $0.24 Profit
2nd transaction I bought one bottle of the Nivea wash separately so I could roll the $1.00 +UP from the first order. I could probably have coupled it with one of the Colgates, but wasn't thinking quick on my feet.
Used $1.00 +UP and -.01 + .14 tax = $0.13 from gift card
Rec'd $1.00 +UP
Final Total = $0.13 cost
3rd and 4th trans I bought Colgates separately because I'd read that multiple +UPs weren't printing for some people and I didn't want to chance it.
Used (2) $1.00 +UP and .50 + .21 tax = $0.71 from gift card
Rec'd $3.00 +UP
($6.00 towards #560 Oral Care)
Final Total = $0.29 Profit ($0.58 total)
*Total $26.46 towards #560 Oral Care; earns $10.00 Gift Card
I left the store, but then thought, boxes of condoms for $0.49 after SCRs, I should get more of those. I had (2) Colgate $3.00 +UPs, so I went back in and bought (2) more boxes of condoms.
(I have (6) addresses, so don't try this unless you have more than (1) address...unless you actually need these, $3.49 is a really good price even without the SCR.)
Trans 5 and 6
Used (2) $3.00 +UP and .49 + .24 tax = $0.73 from gift card
SCR Trojan $3.00
Final Total = $0.73 cost ($1.46 total)
Then I left that store and proceeded onto the other Rite Aid across town, another store I've not previously had too much trouble shopping at but just haven't much because of the Short ad. Today, however, was a different story.
First of all I found (4) bottles of Nivea in stock. Usually when I find stuff in stock in a store that I know other couponers shop, I already know something must be up. But, no guts no glory, right.
1st trans I got (4) Nivea, (3) Reach Floss, (1) Colgate, (1) Reach TB, (1) Rembrant TP, (1) Trojan condoms.
I laid my coupons on the counter, the cashier looked at them, but kinda blew them off like they weren't anything and told me the total would be (I forget how much). I said, um, I have coupons. She was like, ok, and calls the Store Manager to the front. I asked if she didn't know how to do coupons and she said yes, she did. That was it, no explanation why she called the SM.
So he comes up there and she says that I have all these coupons. First thing he says, you know we have a limit of two on the wash.
I said, no, didn't know, didn't see a sign posted saying there was any limit.
He said if I read the fine print in the ad, it states they can put limits on items.
I said that I knew they could, but there was nothing saying they did.
He said if someone came in there and bought it all up there would have been none left for me.
I said, yeah, that happens.
He said again about the ad saying they could put limits.
I said again I knew they COULD, but since they don't usually, how am I supposed to know they DID this time, on this one item? I told him I am all about following rules, IF I know about them, but it's not really fair to let me come in the store and do my shopping and have my plan (with my coupons) and then get to the register and you say "Oh, and by the way, there's a limit", is it?
He said, next time there will be a sign.
He never did say I couldn't buy all the Nivea, or take them off the order himself.
So then he spreads out all my coupons and starts looking through them, then he starts scanning them. The Reach IP that always beeps (someone said they believed it was miscoded for Listerine) beeped, so he set it aside. By the end of him scanning all my coupons I was -.65 and only owed .74, so he said that's why the $1.00 coupon wouldn't work.
This is how I found out they are the Super-Short ad area; they didn't have the Rembrant TP deal in their ad. Instead of $5.49, it rang up $3.84, so messed up my totals, sending me in the negative. (Can't believe that SM allowed that.)
Used $10.00 +UP and -0.65 + 1.39 tax = $.74 from gift card
Rec'd $1.00 Nivea x 4, $2.00 Reach, $3.00 Colgate
SCR $3.00 Trojan ($13.80 towards #560 Oral Care)
Final Total = $1.26 Profit
Trans 2 and 3
In the 1st trans, I didn't really have any 'questionable' coupons, as far as like stacking two or three coupons for alot of overage, but in my next transactions I was using a $4/2 to buy $2 worth of Rolaids. I wasn't sure he was going to let me get away with that. He looked at the coupon, at the register, at the coupon. I looked at him with the imperious questioning eyebrow lift. Finally he just scanned it without arguing.
I bought (2) Rolaids and (1) Colgate.
Used $1.00 +UP and $0.00 + .35 tax = $0.35 from gift card
Rec'd $3.00 Colgate
($6.00 towards #560 Oral Care)
Final Total $1.65 Profit ($3.30 total)
Trans 4 and 5 I was getting (2) more boxes of condoms. First box rang up fine, but the next one rang up $10.something. He asked, because he knew I wasn't intending to pay that much, and I said no, hadn't intended to get those. So he voided, and I went back to find a stickered box. There were several pegs with a 75% off sticker stuck to them - including the box that rang up $10.something - but none of the boxes had stickers on them - including the two boxes I had just bought.
I got another box of the same ones I had just bought and knew was ringing up $3.49. Back at the register I told him none of the boxes had stickers on them, but I knew these were ringing up 75% off.
He said, maybe you are just lucky to be getting these.
Excuse me?! Maybe he's just lucky I'm not in a pissy enough mood to report his attitude and mis-priced items to Corp! Jerk.
Used $3.00 +UP and .49 + .24 tax = $0.73 from gift card
SCR $3.00 Trojan
Final Total = $0.73 cost ($1.46 total)

Food Lion
Wow. Talk about side-swiped. Didn't see this one coming from a mile away. I set out looking for papers this morning, hoping to find them in the Food Lion parking lot, so while I was there anyway, thought I better drop in and do a FL shop, while the GB is still on sale.
Besides the ground beef and buttery spread, I had also gotten a bottle of Mott's Medley and a couple bottles of Ketchup.
Until I was informed, as I was checking out, I couldn't use (2) coupons on an item. I pointed out that one coupon was a Food Lion store coupon, the other was a manufacturer. Yep, nope, still can't do it. One or the other.
No, surely that couldn't be right, that doesn't even make any sense. So the girl asked the CS person, and she verified that yes, they don't stack. (They did two days ago!)
So I said well take the stuff off then, if I can't use my coupons, I ain't buying it.
I finish buying this stuff (used a $4.00 Kroger OYNO to pay for the meat, which she tried to say they couldn't take, either, but they finally did), then I went to the CS desk and asked for the Store Manager.
I showed him I had a Food Lion coupon and a Manufacturer coupon, and said they are telling me I can't use these together. He said, That's right, only one.
I was like, are you kidding me? That is crazy! That's like saying you can't use a Food Lion and a dollar bill. I said, Do you understand (manufacturer coupons) are the same as money, they are reimbursable for cash?
He said he understood they were reimbursable, but nonetheless, that's the way it was.
I can't imagine what this idiot is thinking. The only thing I can think is he doesn't want to be bothered reedeeming coupons and throws them in the trash? I mean, who turns down money??

Rite Aid
Rite Aid was the second "done gone wrong" of my day. I had read where someone posted that they'd gotten the +UP reward when they didn't use the in-ad coupon, which made sense, since the Oral-B was the only thing not using an in-ad coupon this week, and it kept giving the rewards. Even not using the in-ad coupon, it would have still been a $3.00 money maker after +UP reward.
I figured I could try it, and if it didn't work, just return it.
So I tried it, and it didn't work, so we were going to return it. The girl called the SS up, one I hadn't seen before. At first she didn't understand what we were talking about. She insisted I should have gotten the +UP reward everytime (I agree). Then she was like, oh I know why it didn't give it to her, she only paid $0.60!
I said no, that has nothing to do with it....so then she decides the reason I didn't get was because you HAVE to use the in-ad coupon to get it. She went so as far as to say she GUARANTEED I would get it using the in-ad coupon.
So she does the return - gives me $0.64 back - re-rings it and uses the in-ad q and the Vv q and my $4.00 +UP reward I'd used. I paid, and again, no +UP reward.
So she's like, well, this is happening, today, now, and she stuffs my coupons in the drawer and starts to write $7.00 +UP reward on my receipt.
But then, the Manager shows up and she tells him, blah blah blah, and he says no, it's limit 1 per customer. He goes and gets the sale paper and shows me where on the in-ad coupon it says limit 1 per customer. I said that's talking about the coupon, not the reward.
He said he talked to Corporate and they told him all the +UP rewards were limit 1 per customer. Otherwise, they would lose tons of money.
Right. They had like 12 boxes in stock this week. So either I bought all 12, or 12 different people come in and buy them, how are they out any more money either way?
They are out money now, though, because 3 boxes didn't sell at all.
So, as I've already learned you can't argue with stupid (and this is my good store, so I didn't want to piss them off anyway) I just shut up and went on.
The SS said, well she had "fixed" my purchase for me, anyway. Still thinking I had only paid a few cents for it, when actually I was out a $4.00 +UP reward, so no, she didn't fix nothing.
But, it's not their fault, and I will be writing a scathing email to Rite Aid Customer Service/Corp.
The way they have been doing is bullcrap. Last week when they pictured the Crest w/ Scope toothpaste in the ad, and then oh, by the way, that one's not included. Now they are imposing limits - maybe - (they didn't on the Oral-B) without letting us know. Even if they decided to impose limits, okay, what the heck, people have been calling all week and being told no, the limits don't start until August, there ar eno limits right now. But tells the store manager, yes, it's limit one per customer.
I was going to do one more Garnier deal (not caring if I got the +UP or not) and use my +UP rewards wrote on my receipt by that Manager earlier in the week, but I figured he wouldn't honor them now, since he insisted it was one per customer, so I didn't even try.

Kroger
Kroger was my only decent shop today. But after my experiences at FL and RA, I was sweating it. In fact, I almost skipped Kroger altogether and just came on back home. I did drive past one Kroger before I changed my mind and decided to try it anyway.

Walmart
Read yesterday where someone posted about they go to Walmart to spend their high value coupons. I have pretty much got in the habit where, if it doesn't make me money, or is at least free, then I don't want it. Even free costs tax.
But then I got to thinking, I hate throwing away good, high value coupons, too. So maybe I ought to consider loosening up some and spending a few cents to be able to use up the coupons.
I still had my $2.00 Pampers wipes coupons that I didn't in any other sales; I knew they were $1.97 at Walmart, so first off I wanted to get some of those.
I also found the $4.00 Biotrue coupons in the Optical dept. The Biotrue is $4.00, so I got those free. Would have got more but the Optical dept lady saw me at the counter and asked if she could help me, I said I was just getting a couple of the coupons and she walked around and put her eagle eye on me.
Otherwise, I had also taken along the $2.00 Schick razors. I've seen many, many times people say they get the 10+2 package for $1.97, but I've never found them at any of the Walmarts I've shopped. The cheapest I ever find is the 12 packs for $5.something.
Also took $2.00 off Heinz 57 w/ Lea & Perrins, and $2.00 Lea&Perrins Thick and Classic. The H57 was $3.69, so not that cheap after coupon. Forgot L&P price, but not cheap, either.
Also took a .75 off Edwards pie slices. I figured if they were $1.25 or so, maybe they'd be worth .50....however they were $2.25 - A SLICE! Are they bonkers?
Anyway, the above stuff was free + .12 overage (I got pool chemicals that ate up the overage).
But then I got to thinking, I hate throwing away good, high value coupons, too. So maybe I ought to consider loosening up some and spending a few cents to be able to use up the coupons.

Kroger
Woohoo! Big day at Kroger!
Note: These are Atlanta area/South-East Region Kroger prices and deals. Prices and Deals vary by Region.
I'm sure I could have planned this out better (if I had any sense) but oh well, I do my best. Still did pretty good, so I can't complain too much!
Besides the Mega deal, I was working the Kraft and School Supply OYNO cat-coupon deals:
$5.00 wyb 5 Kraft
$4.00 wyb $20.00 Value School Supply (This based on regular, before sale prices, which at my Kroger were $2.39 each, so I bought 9 boxes to reach the $20.00+ value. They were on sale for $0.25 each, so they only cost me $2.25, and I got a $4.00 OYNO Cat)

I was starting out paying cash, so I got 10 Vitamin Waters for the overage to bring my oop cost down.

Rite Aid
I read some MBs regarding the missing +UP rewards yesterday, and similar things happened to other people, but, nothing explainable. If everyone experienced a limit 1, you could see that, but some people got it twice, one transaction right after the other. Some didn't get it in a 2nd transaction, but did the next day.
I decided to try the Limit 1 Per Day theory today, but apparently that's not it either. I only got the $1.50 OralB Floss reward.
I saw it when it printed it and none of the others but I didn't say anything; I didn't really spend much, and I got the last I needed to finish another skincare rebate, so....
But the SS, who was cashiering, saw that they didn't print out and she was like, oh I got to show the boss, and called the Manager (or Asst Manager?) over. They said they'd had the same trouble yesterday (same store I got all mine at yesterday morning).
Anyway the Manager wrote on my receipt all the missing rewards. I guess I have to spend $13.50 all at once, but I ain't bitchin' about that. Coulda been like my last shop yesterday and got nothing but "We don't know what to do" crap.
I was pretty darn irritated to get there and realize I hadn't cut out anymore $3.00 Zegerid MQs from yesterday's inserts. I even sat in my car before leaving, thinking, Ok, am I forgetting anything? Did I need to print more of anything, or anything? Nope. Okay.
The $5/$25 and the overage from the Garnier covered it so I didn't have to spend more, but dang, that was a free package of Oreos or jug of milk.

The next Rite Aid is one I don't have too much luck at and prefer to not go in, but I had planned to get alot of the Zegerid this week and figured it'd go out of stock fast so I didn't want to pass up the chance to get one while I was passing a RA anyway.
I said, I will only get the Zegerid, Motrin, and OralB. Even if they refused one of my Motrin coupons I was still coming out to the good.
But then I saw the SM wasn't there, the SS that I like was, and a Pharmacy tech was running the register. PT's are usually easy, so I decided to push my luck and go for the Garnier deal.
For this reason I did not get the OralB floss with the beeping coupon, not wanting to draw any undue attention to my coupons.
It did end up going mostly okay. She marked down my Garnier Video Values coupon, saying she had to so my total wouldn't go negative. I told her I had already figured it up so my total wouldn't go negative, I know they can't pay me money. She said well, some people do. Not I. She still wouldn't give me full credit on those coupons, but took all the other ones.
So I lost out on about $1.42 from the coupon adjustment, but okay, whatever.
Then I pay, get my receipt, and NO +UP REWARDS!!! Not a single one.
Did they start limiting it to one deal per card???
She wanted to void it and try ringing it all separately, which, for obvious reasons, I couldn't go for. So the SS comes and she calls another store and someone apparently tells her she had to void and re-ring it all.
Which I'd really prefer not happen at this point, after having barely gotten most of my coupons thru the first time. I said if you void it and re-ring it, it's still not going to print them, is it?
Then she said "they" told her they were having the same trouble with their machine and they were telling people to call the Customer Service and they would send them in the mail.
So I said okay, I would do that. Took my purchases and got the heck out.

I needed Pepto, and even with only a .50 coupon and a $1 ECB, it's still better than paying full price, right.
Then I got lucky and someone found some $2 Biotrue coupons, turning that into a $2 MM deal.
Then I got luckier and some $/$$ coupons came out.
Here was my "Screw-up Of The Day"; I thought I had bought the other Biotrue on my card, so I this time I used my son's card and, yep, no ECB's - limit had been reached. Blah.
So I said Oops, I forgot I must have already bought this, can I return it?
The boy asks if I was supposed to have gotten ECBs for it, and I said yes, and he said he'd just print me the ECBs. So he gave me $6 ECB. Niiiice!

Food Lion
I never tried using the Harvey's coupons at Food Lion before, but it occured to me since they (my stores) now take all competitor coupons, maybe they'd take it.
The Food Lion q was $1.00/2, and coded as an mq so maybe not even work with a nother mq.
The Harvey's q was $2.00/3, which was a better value, and was also a store coupon, so stackable.
I had .20 mqs from the inside of the Banquet meals boxes from a few months ago. Those doubled to .40.
In the end I got (3) Hunt's ketchup, and $0.20 overage.
The Harvey's coupon beeped as Not Found when she scanned it. I didn't offer anything. She read all the fine print and said, she'd had a problem with a coupon like that earlier, she'd just have to enter it manually. When she tried that it came up with all that, no matching item, coupon for more than price, or some such, which was the same thing it said last week when I was buying the Holly Farms with FLips, so I'm thinking it has more to do with how they are entering it or something.
Anyway, she called a manager, or CS, whatever, over, and told her it wasn't scanning, but I had bought 3 ketchups. She looked at the coupon and said No problem, and typed in something, stuck in her key and turned it, and it took it off.
I'm not sure if they saw it was a Harvey's, rather than a FL. Not sure how they could have missed it.
The store I visited today finally got the machine where you scan your card and it gives you coupons. Nothing much to get excited over. Half of them were FLips, good TODAY only.
The others are mqs and had longer expire dates, but the bar codes start with 9, so those don't double.
One of the mqs I got was .50 off Tony's pizza, so since they were 10/10.00 (or 1.00 each) I tried it out to see I got free pizza.
I didn't.
I did get a FLip for .50 off (2) Food Lion bread. The bread was $1.05 each, so $1.60/2 after coupon.
And then I got the 2.5lb package of ground beef, value priced at $5.31.
Used $2.00 Food Lion OYNO cat and $3.50 Kroger OYNO cat.
(I had also thought about trying to see if I could use RRs here, but, of course, forgot to take any inside. I think I would be able to, though, because she just scanned the ones I used, and it took them. She didn't have to enter the Kroger as a competitor coupon. Since RRs are mq's, they would just scan, too.)

Walgreens
I was headed to Wags this morning with every intention of burning every RR in my envelope (which had expired yesterday, btw). In the end, I couldn't do it. Even if I lost some of them, it's better than having to spend cash again next time.
As you probably know there wasn't very many deals to be had this week.
The Reach, IF in stock. I was lucky today and they had a peg-full.
I was planning to roll on Celcius, too, thinking it was a monthly deal at $4.99, with a $3.00 RR, and I have a $2.00IP, which would make them FARR.
But they weren't marked as being on sale or RR deal, and were priced $7.99, so I just didn't mess with trying to carry one for price checking. I know, Lazy-Maizy.
Otherwise the next quick, easy roll looked to be the Rolaids @ $4.99; get $5.00 RR wyb (2). I used the $4/2 6/06 RP, so they generally cost $0.98 after RR.
Except, I bought (4) Reach Crystel Clean @ $1.59 each, and had $1.00 any Reach Tearpad q's, so they cost $2.36 after q's, and netted me +$1.64 after RR.
So that covered the Rolaids, and probably most of the fillers.
I screwed up my last transaction. Still irritated by that.
I had a $4.00 RR to spend.
I got
$2.99 Scunci x 2
$6.99 Dr. Scholl's Hidden Arch Support
$1.59 Salonpas H/M Patch x 4
$0.50 Mini Oreos
$0.50 Mini ChipAhoys
$0.79 Refreshing Cola
I used
(4) $1.00 Salonpas IPq's, making all those free (+.01 overage each)
$2.00 Dr. Scholl's IPq
$5.00 Dr. School's IVC July book, making the insert free (+.01 overage)
Then she tried to scan my Scunci and Wags Soda in-ad q's and they BEEPED! Because my total was down to $1.77 at that point. Whaaa?
I shrugged and paid, went to put my bags in the buggy, and there sat the loafa bread I had forgotten to get out and put on the counter!!!!
The freakin' bread was the only thing I really needed out of all that stuff.
They were busy so I didn't bother trying to get a Re-Do, although I regretted it from the minute I got in my car and drove off.
$30.00 RR to start
$ 6.39 spent from Visa prepaid card (earned at Rite Aid)
$27.00 RR to finish
Not too bad!
As you probably know there wasn't very many deals to be had this week.

Food Lion
Fun day at Food Lion!
As I was walking into the first store, I found a Lucky Penny, and it sure was. (If you don't know what a Lucky Penny is, it's a Penny laying on the gorund with Abe's face UP. If you see a Penny on the ground with the backside up, leave it.)
At this store I did a deal Brandy posted a few days ago but I was too lazy to print out the coupons until last night (because I had to use the hubby's laptop and I'm not used to it).
Anyhow I got (3) Oscar Meyer deli shaved sandwich meat and (2) Kraft Sandwich Mayo. I used (3) $1.00 OM IP q's and (2) $1.00 Publix q's from the yellow flyer.
Subtotal $1.50
Then I got a package of chicken, Capri Sun, Cool Whip, and (4) Smuckers.
In addition to the $2.00 Capri Sun FLip, I had a $1.00 MQ from the coupon booklet found of the Maxwell House coffee cansiters a few months ago, so I used that too, to get $0.93 overage.
And then the usual $0.67 overage for buying the Sweet Deal.
As usual, I had went and ahead and wrote $1.67 on my Smuckers BOGO q's. But the girl didn't want to take my word for it and looked up the price herself, and took $2.19 off; regular price. I told her it was really $1.67, but she told me BOGO coupons were "supposed" to use the regular price. Okay, then. I wasn't about to argue with that, lol.
Final total was $0.57 including tax, and then I got a $2.00 OYNO cat for the Oscar Meyer. Yay!
At the next store, I got chicken, Capri Sun, Cool Whip/Smuckers.
Believe it or not, this lady did the same thing! I had written $1.67 on the coupon, but he looked at the receipt and saw it said $2.19 (I give my card last so the regular price shows first, and then the discounts take off later). She marked out my $1.67 and wrote $2.19 on them.
Final Total $0.02 including tax.
It was funny because she hit the button and the total came up, and she looked at it, and hit the button again, and again, her expression was like "WTF?". I laughed and said "Two cents!" so then she got it, and she laughed, too and said she was impressed, and couldn't wait to tell her friend, who was a couponer, too. She had never seen it go that low before.

Rite Aid
I read in a message board post that the Crest ProHealth was working for the +UP, so I stopped in Rite Aid to finish the last couple of plans I had made for Sunday before giving up when the +UP didn't work.
Sure enough, the ProHealth did work. But then the Pantene didn't. I got hairsprays this time, for my mom and aunt. Started out I got a Classic and a Fine hair spray. The picture on the ad shows Thick hair spray was included, so why not Fine, right? Don't know, but it wasn't. We figured it out because it didn't ring up the $3.50 sale price.
So I did a return/exchange and got a Thick hair spray, and got the +UP reward then.
I asked the Manager had he called about my Crest reward from Sunday (he had not and went to do that). He came back and said they told him that the Scope one wasn't included in the program, only the Pro-Health was.
Since it's pictured right on the ad, I asked, is that not like, false advertising?
He said he thought they would put up a Disclaimer. I said is that not already three days late?
He just shrugged, like, oh well, you're just SOL, and went about his way.
I didn't make a stink because this is my fave Rite Aid and I don't want to piss them off. Somtime later in the week I'll just take the Crest w/ Scope back and do a return/exchange for a Pro-Health and get the reward. No biggie.
But, sucky thing for Rite Aid to do, putting wrong items in the ad, and not letting anyone know before Tuesday. Maybe not even then if I hadn't gotten the Manager to call.

Publix
Is it the new thing, my messing up/or getting messed up every first shop of the day? My new habit? I hope not, because I don't much like messing up. Even though sometimes, like today, I come out ahead. I'd really rather come out on target and everything just go right.
My first shop of today was Publix.
The Sandwich Shop mayo was BOGO. I must have just missed it by mere hours the other day.
$1.00/$0.99 - $1.00 MQ - $1.00 PQ = $1.00/$1.01 overage each
Tornadoes 2/$4.00 - $2.00 BOGO Facebook MQ - $1.00 MQ = $1.00/2, or $0.50 each.
Smart Milk BOGO $3.59 with raincheck - $2.50 MQ x 2 = +$1.41 overage/2
The Better'n Eggs that were 2/$4 last week, were marked 2/$5 today, so no more overage. I still got some because we use/like them so I don't mind paying $0.25 for them, especially when I got other overage to pay for them with.
($5.00 - $2.50 BOGO PQ - $1.00 PQ Smart Savings Bk - $1.00/2 MQ = $0.50/2, or $0.25 each)
Well, mine rang up $2.79 at the register.
Thing was, I ran into having more coupons than items so the CS lady had to come override it, and while she was there she entered the rest of my coupons, one of which was the BOGO coupon, and she entered $2.50 for it.
So I paid and got my receipt and headed for the CS desk and told her they were supposed to be 2/$5 (which she knew because she'd just took off $2.50 for one of them) but they had rang up $2.79. She said okay, and went to the register, and came back with $0.60. I asked, y'all don't have the thing anymore where you get it free if it rings up wrong?
Yes, so she went and came back with $2.58.
So, I think I ended up getting a couple dollars overage on those. Both free, plus the two $1.00 off coupons.
MY mistake was forgetting that I can use a $5/$20 coupon at that Publix. How could I forget such a thing?? I didn't even realize it until she had already rung everything up and was starting on the coupons.
I'd figured my balance at $1.75 - before the Better'n Eggs difference and before tax - my final total came up to $3.something, so I wasn't going to try to stick it in at that point. Though I was feeling ill because it's been hard for me to even get up to $20 transactions at Publix lately, and I completely wasted that one, and I could have gotten some ground beef we've been out of for over a week with that extra money.
Anyway, while I was at the CS desk dealing with the Better'n Eggs, I said that I had forgotten to use that coupon, and asked if there was anything I could do at that point. Not really expecting to be able to, but she gave me $5.15 in cash. So that was nice.

CVS
Hit CVS first on account of I knew I was out way too early for the dollar paper sellers, and I was expecting to get some overage/profit with the $5/$25 and $4/$20 coupons that I could apply to the papers at CVS.
I didn't like having to pay $3.00 for a bundle, liked even less having to pay $2 each when the 2nd store didn't have bundles...I hadn't even wanted to pay $1.00 just for one P&G insert. Why did they start putting them in on Holiday weekends? Didn't they used to wait until the week after?
Oh well.
The first transaction I bought:
$4.99 Covergirl Prof Mascara
$4.99 Covergirl Prof Mascara
$5.49 Eye Enhancers Shadow (WRONG ONES)
$5.49 Eye Enhancer Shadow
$9.97 Gillette Fusion
$1.79 x 6 Sobe
$3.00 Bundle pack newspapers
= $22.95
-$5/$25 CVS
-5.49 Free Enhancer wyb Mascara 7/04 P&G
-5.49 Free Enhancer wyb Mascara 7/04 P&G
(1st coupon worked if you used it before the $1.00 off any Covergirl, but the second one beeped saying it would only allow $4.49 off. The cashier added $1.00 CVS coupon to make it $5.49, but at my next shop I checked the bar codes and the $3.49 shadows were actually the correct ones to buy.)
-1.00 any Covergirl 7/04 P&G
-1.00 any Covergirl 7/04 P&G
-4.00 Gillette Fusion 6/06 P&G
-1.79 x 3 Sobe BOGO IP Q
-8.00 ECBs
=$3.95 oop
Rec'd $5.00 Covergirl wyb $15, $5 Gillette Fusion
Final Cost $1.95
I didn't get any of the Biotrue eye stuff in the first transaction because with no coupon it didn't profit me anything, and I would've had to pay taxes on it.
But somewhere between store number one and store number two I managed to figure out that I could do better by breaking it into two transactions, and then the eye stuff would help me get up to the $25 threshold I needed to reach to be able to use the $5/$25 coupon.
Transaction #2:
$9.97 Gillette Fusion
$2.99 Biotrue eye stuff
$2.99 Biotrue eye stuff (Says Limit 1, but is really 2)
$1.59 x 6 Sobe drink
$4.00 (2) newpapers
= $24.72 (It was over $25 with tax)
-$5/$25
-4.00 Gillette Fusion 6/06 P&G
-1.59 x 3 Sobe BOGO IP
-1.00 ECB
-10.00 ECB
Total -.05 + .99 tax = $0.94 oop (The last two times I was going to have the ECB adjusted down a few cents, the register took it anyway. Not sure why, but ain't complaining!)
Rec'd $5.00 Gillette, $5.98 Biotrue eye stuff
Final Cost $0.96 oop
Transaction #3:

-(4.99) Free Enhancer wyb Mascara 7/04 P&G (She read the coupon wrong and gave me $4.99 off for the mascara instead. When I pointed it out to her she just shrugged. If it was good with her, then it was good with me, too.)
-1.00 any Covergirl 7/04 P&G
-1.00 any Covergirl 7/04 P&G
-1.59 x 3 SOBE BOGO IP q
Total $2.48 + .93 tax = $3.41 oop
Rec'd $5.00 Covergirl
Final Total +$1.59
GRAND TOTAL $1.30 COST (Uhh, guess I can no longer whine about having to pay so much for my newspapers since they came out to an average of $.325 cents each if you don't count off anything for the drinks, razors, makeup, or eye stuff...none of which *I* will use myself, so I'm only counting it as the cost of the papers.)
